So you got 72 hours for a Lagos Holiday and honestly with so many beaches to choose from its really about 72 hours of recharging your batteries. Portugal is the perfect opportunity to explore and sight-see, enjoy fresh seafood, and take part in exciting activities like parasailing. The historic town is one of the most popular with tourists, and for many good reasons. It has a blend of historic spots, relaxing beaches, and activities suitable for visitors of all ages.
Forte Da Ponta Da Bandeira
Built in the 17th century, this fort still has most of its original features. In addition, it has a little museum about the history of Portugal.
One of the spectacular features of this Lagos is the beautiful grottos. To explore these grottoes there are plenty of boat tours taking guests in and around the stunning rock formations. For the most part, the prices are reasonable. Located close to the fort was Traditional Boat Trip Ponta Da Piedade in which local fishermen on small boats in Ponta da Piedade take you out to see the grottos. The price was under 20 euros and you can call +351962977336 for reservations.
As mentioned before, some of the biggest draws for tourists are the beaches, including Praia Dona Ana and Praia do Camilo, and the largest beach, Meia Praia. They offer an ideal way to unwind on the coast, with clear waters and stunning cliffs.
If for some reason lying on the beach with a good book starts to get boring there are plenty of beach activities and water sports. Everything from beach volleyball to kayaking, waters skiing, paddle boarding, snorkelling, scuba diving, parasailing and sky diving.
Located in the coastal town of Alvor, Southern Portugal Skydive Algarve offers the ultimate in skydiving experiences. My brother Andrew raved about this place just days after running with the bulls in Pamplona Spain.
